There is something beautiful and elegant about simple (simple does not mean boring!) event décor. A clean look makes an event look well put together. When there is too much going on, I think it can take away from the event. Here are some simple décor examples below that I love and are perfect for summer:
I love the use of mason jars at an outdoor summer weddings, these flowers add a great pop of color. This is simple, but makes a gorgeous centerpiece (and easy DIY).
I love using mini vases, I think they are stunning.
Love the antique pieces used with single flowers. Simple, yet stunning.
Example of an outdoor table. Décor looks great and not too over the top!
For someone that wants a different, unique feel to their event, this a great example of simple décor. I think this is stunning!

Calla lilies are elegant and timeless. They are a great complement to a traditional flower bouquet. They add that little extra flare and pop. Calla lilies are also a great flower to incorporate into your wedding décor. Although calla lilies come in variety of colors, my favorite is the white. Again, the look is very timeless and can be used in so many different ways..it just depends on your individual taste!
Love the combo of roses with cala lilies. The diamonds complete this look!
Calla lilies make a statement!
How gorgeous is this centerpiece?

with succulents!
Succulents are a very unique plant that has become increasingly popular for use in wedding décor. I think succulents add a gorgeous, bold pop of color to bouquets and give brides the option to do something out of the ordinary with their floral décor. Combining succulents with other flowers such as roses, peonies, etc is the perfect mix between traditional and trendy! Succulents come in a wide array of colors, so they can also serve as a great way to incorporate one of your accent colors. See the photo below:
I think succulents fit in particularly well with outdoor weddings and also with rustic and vintage wedding themes!
Here are some visuals:
These bouquets are stunning! They are colorful and original. The succulents add a flair of style into the bride’s bouquet!
WOW. This is truly a gorgeous, unique centerpiece idea. I am obsessed! This feels very vintage and elegant to me.
To sum it all up: succulents are great for weddings, and the perfect solution for brides that want something different. You can incorporate just a few to add color and a different texture to your design, or solely use succulents as your floral décor for a truly unique, yet still beautiful look!

Flower choice is one detail that you should not overlook when putting on an event. Using the right flowers in your décor will tie everything together and make your event look complete. There are a few kinds of flowers that I love to see used in wedding décor.
The first flower I love: the peony.
Peonies are a classic go to flower for décor in wedding and other events. You can use peonies to complement most any color scheme or theme. I think peonies are an elegant and timeless flower. As you can see from the pictures below they are a great complement to almost any design. You can use peonies throughout many different places in your event:
Peony centerpieces look very elegant. They really dress up this table.
Using the peony as an add on to the chandelier gives it a “pop” and makes the chandelier stand out.
I love when real flowers are used on cakes. These pale pink peonies perfectly complement the white and ivory colored cake.
A unique, rustic centerpiece that incorporates the peony.
These pale colored peonies look amazing with these white and gray dresses.

How stunning are these tents? They are the perfect choice for an outdoor wedding. When you use a tent as your venue, you have endless options! You essentially have a clean slate to create an event that is perfectly suited to your taste. In my opinion, this is the best way to do an event!
Sperry tents are sure to provide your event with a timeless, elegant look. They are made from sailcloth, which lets in a ton of natural light. They also have a variety of beautiful hardwood flooring to choose from. Check out these pictures from their site below:
The pictures speak for themselves. You cannot go wrong if you use a Sperry tent for your wedding venue!

Vineyard Weddings

When you think of a vineyard I am sure there are certain things that come to your mind. I think rustic, elegant, classy, romantic and intimate all wrapped into one. There are so many spectacular vineyards in the Upstate New York area that serve as great venues for weddings and events. It makes designing easy, because you can pull in all the natural aspects of the vineyard to use in your décor. Even if you do not want to have your wedding or reception at a vineyard, you can tie the vineyard “feel” into any event. A barn or any outdoor location with a lot of land are great venues for incorporating the vineyard theme.
Here are some decor ideas that are perfectly suited for a vineyard event:
Wine barrels. In the below picture wine barrels are used as a table. I love this! You can also use wine barrels throughout your event to place flower arrangements, place cards, etc.:
Farm tables for reception seating:
Chiavari chairs for table seating. Simple, classy chairs that go great with the farm tables:

Dramatic chandeliers for table lighting. Using these will add a wow factor to your decor:
Sunflowers. Not only for bouquets, but also for centerpiece ideas:
Wine Corks. There are so many ways to incorporate these. But I love using them as place card holders:
An example of a vineyard wedding from The Knot that is inspiring to me!
Again, these are just some of the design ideas that go along with a vineyard theme. There many more directions you can go with the idea, it just depends on your taste! Please call or email me for more suggestions about your event!

Gray Weddings

I think gray is a beautiful, chic color to use throughout weddings. Whether you incorporate it into your bridesmaids’ dresses or use it as an accent color for your decor, you cannot go wrong! I love the fact that it is different. Gray is usually not the first color that pops into people’s minds when they think of weddings.
Here are some gray dresses I found that I love the style of. All of these dresses scream elegant!
If you go with gray dresses, you have a huge variety of colors to choose from as accents. Since gray is neutral, most any color looks good with it. Combining yellow with gray is a very popular combination. Adding any bold color to the gray will really make everything pop!
Here are some great decor ideas that incorporate gray:
Refreshing, beautiful bouquet

These bold gray linens are a great pop of color!
Such a cute cake idea!
My Mason Jar Project <3

After blogging about mason jars the other night I was inspired to do a project of my own. I ventured out to Michael’s and got all of the necessary supplies this weekend. Here is the project portrayed in pictures:
I love the way these turned out! Both the painted and non-painted are great ideas for wedding decor and can be used together or separately. Not only can these jars be used for centerpieces, but they can also be used throughout your wedding reception space to tie everything together.
